Sigma announces 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS lens
Not to be outdone by a wave of new product announcements from camera manufacturers this week, Sigma is announcing their new 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG OS telephoto zoom lens. It aims to offer a powerful zoom range in a compact form coupled with Sigma's OS optical image stabilization.
Sigma claims the OS system offers a gain of four stops. The 70-300mm also plays host to Sigma's SLD Special Low Dispersion glass elements to combat many types of aberration and a Super Multi-Layer Coating that aims to minimize flare and ghosting. The lens measures 126.5mm overall in length and weighs 610g. By combining a compact form factor with use of slower shutter speeds, Sigma hopes to make this a lens photographers will reach for in situations that call for steady handheld work.

Re: Sigma announces 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS lens
Well, I hope it works with a Sony@700..! I bought two Sigma APO DG 70-300mm lenses and both were initially brilliant then soon broke...terrible grinding sound when attached to camera and focus shot to hell....and I look aftre my kit and have no problem with the camera or any other lenses!..Sigh.....best regards, Roger Beaumont
