PhotoPlus Expo 2009 Preview
The PhotoPlus Expo East kicks off tomorrow in New York, but the party has already started. Nikon had us busy shooting with the D3S last night, putting the extremely high ISO range to work at the Big Apple Circus. Take a look at what we've been up to and what's ahead at PhotoPlus 2009.

It's a year for the big sensor DSLRs. Last week, Nikon announced the D3S - a full-frame, pro DSLR capable of shooting at an equivalent of ISO 102,400. And, appropriately enough, they kicked off the PhotoPlus festivities with a trip to the Big Apple Circus. Our group of photographers and members of the press huddled around a table under the big top, ready to snatch up a camera and start shooting.
DCR contributor Theano Nikitas brought us some sample images and video along with some commentary on the camera's performance under the bright lights of the circus.
Just announced yesterday was the Canon 1D Mark IV, another pro-grade DSLR with the same extended ISO range. We've yet to get our hands on the Mark IV, so rest assured it's high on the list of items to cover on the show floor.
Lower on the price scale but just as big on sensor size is the full-frame Sony Alpha a850 DSLR. The a850 was announced in August and turned a few heads with a rock-bottom price tag of $2000.
Then we've got a slew of prying questions for companies like Olympus (E-P2?), so look for continued coverage from DCR through the show wrap-up on Saturday.
