Kodak updates EasyShare M series
Kodak updates its EasyShare line of point and shoots today with four new M series cameras. Varying in sensor resolution from 12 up to 14, the new models feature in-camera tagging for sharing on sites like Facebook and Flickr.
Kodak EasyShare M580
This 14 megapixel camera features the highest zoom of the bunch - an 8x optical reach. A 3.0 inch LCD, HD video capture and built-in HDMI connection round out the package. It will sell for $199.99 starting in April 2010.Kodak EasyShare M575
With a 14 megapixel sensor, the M575 offers a 5x optical zoom range with a 3.0 inch LCD and HD video recording. It will be offered in five colors in April 2010 for $179.99.Kodak EasyShare M550
The M550 utilizes a 12 megapixel sensor and features 5x optical zoom lens with a 2.7 inch LCD. IT will cost $149.99 and will be available in March.Kodak EasyShare M530
The 12 megapixel M530 features a 3x optical zoom and a 2.7 inch LCD. Also available in five colors, the M530 will cost $129.99 and will be available in February.

The location of the flash is interesting, certainly puts it a little further away from the lens. I don't like that big diagonal megapixel banner though - there is too much of the "Look at how many MPs I have" mentality.

Unless the sensor is larger than 1/2.3 inches (which I doubt), I'm also concerned that 14 mp is just too many.
