Default Canon PowerShot SX210 IS First Look Discussion

The Canon PowerShot SX210 IS just arrived and our first impressions are here. There are plenty of reasons to look at the camera closely. A wide-aspect 3.0-inch LCD, manual exposure modes, and a bold 14x wide angle zoom lens are packed into a slim, and (in our case) unabashedly purple camera body. Take a look at some sample images as well as the new features.

It looks very good so far. Nicely done photos which show off Canon's typical images - sharp, colorful and very pleasing overall.

That is one busy mode wheel for a little compact!!! The menus displayed do not look like my old Canons. Is the SX210 a trialhorse for that, or have I just not been keeping up with the latest Canon fashion? Most important, do the exposure controls provide for user customization? The SCN1, SCN2, MyMode kind of games?

I agree with you Andy. Even better, the photos take on a "real life" image that you do not really see in too many cameras.
