Olympus E-PL1 Review Discussion
The Olympus E-PL1 is the latest and most affordable digital camera donning the "PEN" Micro Four Thirds nameplate, priced at $599 with the 14-42mm kit lens. Alongside its older siblings, the higher priced E-P1 and E-P2, the E-PL1 jumps into the game with many of the same specs, including a 12.3-megapixel LiveMOS sensor, sensor-shift image stabilization and full manual control.

Re: Olympus E-PL1 Review Discussion
Agreed. But, I still wish somebody would put the 4/3 sensor in a conventional compact body, complete with retracting lens.

Re: Olympus E-PL1 Review Discussion
IMHO ice sharp and clear pics and video from the samples in this report;outstanding color reproduction. I would think one would want such great optical quality as this camera furnishes.

Re: Olympus E-PL1 Review Discussion
Having had my E-PL1 for just over a month, this is a pretty accurate review. The issues with the LCD screen in sunlight and the slow autofocus indoors can be annoying, but overall I'm thrilled by the quality of the images I'm getting, and really like the camera's portability. Since I use the camera primarily outdoors, the AF isn't much of an issue for me, so I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Re: Olympus E-PL1 Review Discussion
E-PL1 is a camera that cannot use the two ASAP in a sentence "shoot As Soon As Possible in All Shooting Angle Possible". Therefore it is a camera for old shutterbugs that finds beauty in restricted shooting angle of fixed image viewer they love since film days.
