    Default Kodak PlaySport Review Discussion

Kodak pocket HD camcorders don't receive the recognition they deserve. The Zi8 is arguably the best pocket HD camcorder of the last generation, and the only to feature an external mic jack, but it lacks the brand recognition of the rival Flip.

Still, Kodak persists, and they have done something impressive with the new Kodak PlaySport. That is, produce a waterproof 1080p pocket camcorder for an MSRP of $150.

Thumbs down Re: Kodak PlaySport Review Discussion

I got the KODAK ZX3 PLAYSPORT videocamera as a Christmas present from my parents. It worked great and I had no problems with it until, it broke. I had it for 7months. The problem was that the camera wasn't turning on nor charging. I talked with a Customer Service rep. from KODAK online and they said I had to send it in for repairs. I then got an E-mail about 45minutes later saying this "KODAK reserves the right to not give you your camera back from the repair center and not give you a refund or exchange." I then went down to the WAL-MART store we bought it from. They declined to accept to refund my parents' money or exchange the product because it had been over 30 days old. We told them well this is why we got the warranty with you guys so that we could get a refund or exchange. The response to that was "we can't do it." I then called the DM and had to go to the Regional Manager for me to actually get anywhere. I then was reassured that I'd get my camera back via a 3-way call between me, the Regional Manager of my Wal-Mart, and the KODAK Representative Supervisor. I sent it in and 2 days later my camera will barely charge on its own. I have to take the charger out and then reinsert the charger every 15 to 20 mins until the camera is 100% charged. So, obviously the UNITED CAMERA AND BINOCULAR REPAIR (zip code: 60106) doesn't do their repair job!

It sounds like you had your Kodak warranty and an additional extended warranty from Wal-Mart. Is this the case? Was the camera still under those warranties? If so Kodak and Wal-Mart MUST honor their warranties.

    Something doesn't sound right.
