Default Panasonic Lumix FZ100 and Lumix FZ40 introduced with 24x zoom lenses Discussion

Panasonic's ultrazoom line gets an update today with Lumix DMC-FZ100 and Lumix DMC-FZ40 24x cameras. Those big lenses cover a range equivalent to 25-600mm. Take a look at what else the new FZ cameras are packing.

I was wondering when you guys are going to be able to get a review off on the fz100? I had a fz10 or something for the longest time and was content with it. Then I dunked it in a bucket of water.
I just got a d90 but still have a week to take it back. Knowing how the picture quality compairs in standard testing like yours would be really nice to know.
Oh, are the d90 and the d300 or 3 the only cameras to she the texture of the playing card in the iso pictures? Or is that just some fluke of focusing?

    Thanks!

I don't know when DCR will review the new Panasonics but their image quality will not be as good as the Nikon D90, a DSLR, especially in low light. The D90's superior image quality is mainly due to its sensor, which is much larger than the ones in the new Panasonic ultrazooms.
