Default Lowepro Fundraising For Polar Bears International, Olympus FE-200 Firmware Update

Lowepro Announces Fundraising Initiative for Polar Bears International

As part of their 40th anniversary celebration, Lowepro has announed a new fundraising intitiative to benefit Polar Bears International (PBI). Lowepro will be rolling out a new commemorative bag designed for professional photographers to mark the company's 40th anniversary. A percentage of the profits from the sale of the bag will go to PBI. It has been an ongoing tradition for Lowepro to partner with organizations that are focused on conservation efforts, including Amazon Watch, Raincoast Conservation Society and others. Details on the bag will be announced soon.

PBI's primary goals are to conserve the worlds polar bears through research and education, and to serve as a central educational resource on polar bears worldwide. The threatened species is threatened by climate change due to global warming, pollution, poaching and industrial disturbances. All officers and directors for the organization serve without pay, so 100% of their revenue goes directly towards their research programming.

Now that is nice. Not only are you getting a good quality bag for your camera or equipment, you are helping save the polar bears. It is good to see companies work together and to know your money is going to a good cause.
