Default On Assignment: The Olympus PEN E-PL1 goes to the U.S. Open Discussion

The Olympus E-PL1 is a compact and capable interchangeable lens camera. But can it step in for a pro DSLR at the U.S. Open and keep up with Venus Williams' serve? That's the question we set out to answer in the latest installment of On Assignment.

Some good action shots there. I'm impressed with the E-PL1's image quality. Sharp photos, strong but realistic colors, very nice all around.

I really like this article. It's like a story, tutorial, review and maybe a press release rolled into one.

Andy and Eugene, glad you both like the article. I think we were both pleasantly surprised at how well the E-PL1 kept up with the players. I'm not sure any of the Pen cameras would be my first choice of equipment at a tennis match, but testing the E-PL1 out at the tournament did prove that the cameras/lenses have sped up a bit since they first launched.
