Yeah . . . . but the burning question remains . . . . will Canon or Nikon jump on the mirrorless bandwagon?

Re: Countdown to CES 2011: Digital Camera Trends Discussion
More zoom, slimmer bodies, less battery life, more high def video...
The long zoom is nice, but hopefully they'll tweak the current trends a bit and start using better batteries, more high resolution screens/EVF's and use higher quality lenses in p&s cameras to match that long zoom. Fuji brought their DSLR autofocus to their p&s camera. Hopefully they expand on that and others will do the same.Eugene Leafty
Fujifilm S9000, Hoya 58mm uv/circular polarizer/warming filters, 8GB CF, 256 MB CF, topload bag, Dynatran AT-858B tripod base, Dynatran ATH-A04 tripod head, 2 sets NiMH batts w/2 chargers

Re: Countdown to CES 2011: Digital Camera Trends Discussion
I'd like to see more emphasis on the small camera/large sensor combos like the Sony NEX series. How about a 250 gram point and shoot with a 3x zoom non-interchangeable lens and a 4/3 sensor?

Panasonic FZ28
Canon Elph 110 HS
Canon A720IS (retired)

Re: Countdown to CES 2011: Digital Camera Trends Discussion
Maybe what we need is a "CES Wishlist" for all of the things we'd like to see but probably won't. I second the slim camera/big sensor motion. And better batteries would be a huge benefit to a consumer, but development there seems to be slower than anywhere else.

Are we already taking bets on which way the lens will twist on for the new lens mount?
