Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 First Look Discussion
The new Panasonic GF2 offers a touch screen, full 1080p HD video and 3D lens compatibility. On top of all that, it's a lighter, slimmer package than its GF1 predecessor. We've had a few hours with the camera and we've assembled some first thoughts and sample images. Take a look.

Err, it looks like Panny provides the usual adjustments for color saturation and sharpness. But nothing for contrast (other than the intelligent deal)? I can't think of any DSLRs that lack a basic contrast setting.

Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 First Look Discussion
Panasonic's website shows a bunch of adjustable settings for the GF2. There's a film mode that includes a custom setting where you can adjust color, brightness, saturation and contrast. Also, for each mode you can adjust for saturation, contrast, sharpness and noise reduction.

In the "REC" menu there's "Picture Adjust" which allows user inputs for contrast, sharpness, saturation and noise reduction for the manual shooting modes. Full auto and the scene modes put you at the mercy of the camera.

Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 First Look Discussion
That's OK, for about an hour I thought I had to go into the movie menu to switch to manual focus. Couldn't figure out how come movies let you set MF (which worked for stills but there's nothing in the "REC" menu to do the same). It was there the whole time, hiding in plain sight.................looked right at it and it didn't register.
