Default Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 First Look Discussion

Panasonic has carved out a comfortable spot with its GH series of Micro Four Thirds cameras, sitting halfway between a point-and-shoot and a full-fledged DSLR. Take a look at some of our first test shots from the Lumix GH2 while the full review is underway.

Once again, sample images with seriously low contrast -

Hey Kelly, I took a second look at the image you're referring to and I think what you're seeing is a sharpness problem rather than contrast. The histogram looks a-okay and the shadows are nice and deep, but I can see that if you look at some of the bricks on buildings toward the left side of the frame they look a little dull. The GH2 definitely does not deliver contrast on par with a pro-grade DSLR, but in my time using the camera it didn't seem to be a weak spot either. That 14-140mm is a decent lens but definitely prone to some softness in instances like the one above. Hope that helps, the publishing tools are still cranking away the same way they always have!
