GE E850 Digital Camera Available June 10

Just in time for Father's Day, the GE E850 digital camera will be available in Radio Shack stores starting on June 10. Radio Shack will remain the exclusive source for the GE E850 until September 2007. The GE E850 is the middle of the pack model in GE's digital camera line, with 8 megapixel resolution, 5x optical zoom, and 3 inch LCD. The E850 will retail for less than $200.

The GE E850 digital cameras, produced by General Imaging, the worldwide licensee for GE-branded digital cameras, will be on the shelves of company-owned stores on June 10 and in other stores shortly thereafter. The camera will also be available online at www.radioshack.com and through Radio Shack's Ship-to-Store and Direct-to-U programs.

In addition to the specs mentioned above, the E850 also features face detection, image stabilization (higher ISO method), red-eye removal, sensitivity up to ISO 1600, and in-camera panorama stitching.

"made by GE" is also a little funny in this case. The cameras are made by a company called General Imaging, which has the rights to use the GE brand on the cameras.

I meant that the hearing the name GE conjures up pictures of my grandfather's radio - the last small electronics device I've seen made by GE.

Radio Shack, when compared to more glitzy places like Circuit City and Best Buy, causes me to have similar images!

I got this camera today and I absolutely love it! Great price for 8 megapixels. And the LCD screen is 3 inches with makes it even more amazing =]
