Default Canon EOS Rebel T3i Review Discussion

Formally announced on February 7 and available in early March 2011, the Canon EOS Rebel T3i (henceforth T3i) becomes the company's flagship entry-level model and is accompanied to market by a budget-priced T3 variant as well. No fewer than six Rebel models are currently displayed on the Canon USA website, so entry-level folks considering a Canon have their work cut out for them wading through all those choices.

... automatic modes are largely preset and offer little in the way of user input ...
There is an understatement! My EOS 50D is the first camera I've had where the Sports scene fixes the shutter mode to Continuous. As a geezer I'm not the quickest bunny on the block. First time I tried a shot in Sports scene the thing fired off 3 frames before I could lift my finger off the trigger. Surprised the heck out of me.

I just love the Canon 600D or Rebel t3i. It has all the power of the 60d without the weight. The vari-angle is such a boost. Once you've been spoiled by it, you will never want to go back. For instance I love taking candid shots, and there is nothing to generate a frozen pose like seeing a photographer aiming through a viewfinder. The vari angle lets me hide my intnentions.
