    Sooo . . . the SX30 was 14Mp and the SX40 is 12Mp? I like that move.

I would like to know the difference in the zoom capability of 35X from that of 24X. Is it significant enough to consider buying Canon's SX40 HS better zoom instead of a faster Panasonic's FZ-150. It would be great if somebody can post sample images from both the cameras taken at full extended zoom.

I'm currently reviewing the Panasonic FZ150 and I'm loving it. It's quick, works smoothly, has many features and takes good looking pictures. I don't have any personal experience with the Canon SX40 HS but, based on the earlier SX30 HS, the SX40 HS is probably very good. The FZ150 does have a higher resolution LCD (that you can even use in the bright sunshine) and can shoot in RAW mode (for those who like to do post processing).
