Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX90 Review: Connected and Capable Discussion
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX90 is a small, thin, elegant camera that offers some interesting features. Chief among them is built-in Wi-Fi, which enables the wireless transfer of photos and movies to a computer, audio/visual device (such as a smart TV or Blu-Ray player) or directly to a photo sharing or social website such as Facebook, Flickr, Picasa or YouTube.
This can be done at a Wi-Fi hotspot or through a smartphone, even when Wi-Fi access is not available. While many digital cameras are compatible with a Wi-Fi-enabled memory card, there are only a few cameras on the market offering Wi-Fi that is part of the camera itself.

Dunno whether to attribute it to the lens or the JPG processing, but this rig appears to handle your high contrast scenes nicely.

I was impressed too Kelly, it retains the blues in the sky really nicely.

I was very impressed with the demo photos taken too. Nice color balance, great balanced contrast and excellent sharpness.

Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX90 Review: Connected and Capable Discussion
The built in WiFi and the touch screen is nice and all but I would rather my camera budget went towards higher zoom along with maybe even a couple more megapixels. At $263.00 I could buy the same or similar brand with 12X to 16X optical zoom. How does this cameras photos compare to the Lumix ZS8 and the ZS10? Giving up an extra 10 or 15X optical zoom for features that offer absolutely no improvement whatsoever in picture quality just doesn't seem like a good plan to me. Unless this camera has some new technology that makes it also take better pictures while having lower specs than the Lumix ZS10 and even the ZS8. Plus the ZS10 even has the touch screen and GPS and it can be had for around $230.00. The money this would save would buy a pretty nice SDHC card

Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX90 Review: Connected and Capable Discussion
They are different types of cameras that appeal to different needs. The ZS10 is larger, has more zoom, a GPS and manual controls. The FX90 is smaller, has WiFi and has a wider maximum aperture which helps taking low light images. The FX90 has fewer megapixels than the ZS10 (12 vs. 14) which also helps with low light shooting.
As far as image quality is concerned it's probably a wash.My Gear:

Re: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX90 Review: Connected and Capable Discussion
Andy, Thanks for the reply. I'm not a photographer, I'm more of a noob but I've been reading up on sites like this. but I got the Z8 last year and took it to Korea and took a lot of pics. I loved that camera until my wife dropped it and it started getting a little boomerang shaped blemish in pics that showed up in light backgrounds like the sky. I am now a big fan of high zoom capability. It's better on outdoor shots when something is kind of far away. I am going to replace the broken ZS8 with a ZS10 since they have came down in price. I'm not a serious enough photographer to spend several hundred dollars on a camera. I'm more of a low 200's dollar kind of guy. I thought the ZS8 did pretty well in low light. But I'm sure my standards are not as high as many people on this site. The ZS8 was by far the best and most expensive camera that I had ever used. It made me want a higher end camera when I saw how much better a $200.00 camera was than a $100.00 model. So what do you think about the cheapest of the Cannon Rebel line?

A good camera but the cheapest Nikon, the D3100, is better, though more expensive. Here's a link to DCR's review of the T3:So what do you think about the cheapest of the Cannon Rebel line?
