Those sample shots look promising. Every once in a while even Sony can get this right. BTW, the font for the article appeared grey instead of black on my Chrome browser, bit of an eye test.

Re: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100: First Look Review Discussion
Yup. I'm thinking that compact packaging is going to take a bite out of the market for the Nikon 1 series and the "rangefinder" style M4/3 cameras. If Sony ever came out with a "wide" version (remember when Rollei TLR cameras came in 3 different focal lengths?) I would be sorely tempted, and give up my yearning for a M4/3 jobbie.

PS - The review on that other site is now out. Certainly gives the RX100 the crown for a low light compact. But I still favor the resolution of the M4/3 cameras over the RX100.Last edited by KCook; 08-28-2012 at 09:18 PM.

Oh, nice shot.
I'm really enjoying mine thus far. I left the K-5 at home and took the RX100 on vacation recently:

Thanks, Andy. I think it works really well with flowers. Here's another shot from the same gardens:

Out of curiosity, why has a full review of the camera never been posted?

Re: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100: First Look Review Discussion
Hi Eron, we recently brought a new digital camera editor on board, so there's been some delay in getting new reviews up. The review for the RX100 is complete, however, and we'll likely be posting it soon.
