Default Sony Updates A-series, NEX-series Cameras Discussion

Sony officially took the wraps off its long awaited new full-frame DSLR, the a99, combining the advantages of a full-frame image sensor with the speed of Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology. I'm impressed by everything on the NEX-6 but the price.

I agree that the NEX-6 would be more impressive if Sony made the body only price $799 or less. I'm not saying the NEX-6 isn't impressive ... I paid $800 last year for the Olympus E-P3 with less impressive specs. It's just that prices have fallen dramatically since last year and equally impressive cameras like the Panasonic GX1 sell for less than $500 for the body only.

Still, I'm eager to see how these new Sony cameras perform ... more on that as soon as we get our hands on samples that we can use and publish full-size images.

Thank goodness Sony finally switched to the standard hot shoe. But I wonder if their TTL protocol for this will mimic an established brand, or if we will still need to buy Sony dedicated speedlights?
