    Setting up a studio at home is fairly simple to do once you have an idea of what subject matter you actually want to shoot. Either way though, studio setups can be modular as well as long as you have sufficient space, the right gear, and the right creative vision. Starting one is easier than many of us think; here are a couple of tips on how to get yours up and running.

    I think a few price tags would have helped here. I just got my first monolight, a 150ws Flashpoint, for a pretty modest price -

    Flashpoint II FP320M 150 Watt AC/DC Monolight Strobe FP320M

    I'm just getting started with this stuff, have only a couple of umbrellas and one softbox at this point. But it's already evident that their use is different, really different. Most light "kits" give you either umbrellas or softboxes, but not both. So for noobs I think it would be helpful to go into the differences in greater detail. Otherwise there is a 50% chance they will end up with the wrong kit.

    Great point, Kelly. Anyone else interested in more information about setting up a home studio? Maybe we can delve in deeper to the world of professional photography. What do you guys think?
