Default Kodak EasyShare V1273 touch screen ultra-compact announced

Kodak had the new EasyShare V1273 touch screen ultra-compact out and about on Sunday evening, and Monday’s official press announcement, while not offering much detail, confirmed the specs we saw in action.

The Kodak EasyShare V1273 will feature a 12-megapixel sensor, a Schneider-Kreuznach 3x (37-111mm) Varigon zoom, and a 3-inch LCD with touch interface. The Kodak EasyShare V1073 will wear the same basic setup, swapping the V1273’s 12-megapixel sensor for a 10-megapixel unit.

Dual image stabilization, using both presumably sensor-shift and ISO adjustment technology, appears on the V1273. The HD-enabled V1273 is also designed to easily capture high-def video and images. Kodak’s optional HD Photo Dock provides camera connectivity for HDTVs.

Retail release should happen during the first half of this year. Kodak lists an anticipated price range for the V-model cameras between $199 and $279.

I cannot wait for this Cam! I own the V1253 and can say it's the best Cam I have ever owed. Now I will get my Optical IS I was dieing to have in my V1253. I love my ipod Touch, so chances are I will have no problems with this one. Good lookin Kodak!........'PIZ'

    Small Review!

There are only three things that really bother me about the camera.

    1. The LCD screen is hard to see through when you are outside. I think that it is because it's a touch screen.
    2. The battery and memory card Door. When you are holding the camera the door would slide open. The door does not lock in place, it just kinda slides in place.
    3. The battery only lasted for about 30 pics at 12mp and with 4 15-20 second videos. Maybe the battery wasn't charged all the way!

I ordered the v1073 because of the bigger sensor, then sent it back (because my widescreen HDTV would not show full screen in 10mp, the v1273 will at 9mp, v1073 has to be put on 7.5mp inorder for full wide-screen, which I compared with my v1253), and I ordered the v1273 which will be here on Wensday (4/16/). You are right, it's a tad bit harder to see outside because of the Touch-Screen, but that honestly did not bother me one bit. When I had the v1073 I took a good 500 pics and not once did the battery/memory card door slide open on me, or even move. Maybe that part of my Cam was made better on mine?

The battery when fully Charged with the v1073, I honestly thought it did a good job, actually much better then my v1253. Maybe things will change when I recieve the v1273, but don't see how, as they (v1073/v1273) both have the exact same tech-specs, other then sensor size and MP.

Question for ya? What would you rate the v1273 1 to 10 scale? Me, with the v1073? I would give it a good 8-9, as I loved the simplicity of the Cam, gave me great quality Pic's, and was just plain fun to use!

Can't wait for the v1273 to arrive, looking forward to it!

Thanks for the short review brother! Do you have any Pros to go along with the Cons? Are you keeping the Cam? What do you like about it? Thanks!

    Take Care!

Great camera, but the way I hold it, the door opens on me. The way my wife holds it it does not. About the battery, I will do a wall charge and then post again. Like I said, it might be because of the videos that I was doing also.

    GREAT CAMERA!!!

    Pros: Everything Else! ;-)

Thanks for your thoughts my friend, very much appreciated!

Overall one the most anticipated Cams for me in a long long time ( Canon Sx100 IS, Cybershot T70, ect, all where good, but everything about this Cam is what I been waiting for), Especially after having the pleasure of playing with the v1073 for a couple days, can't wait until I get it back in my hands!

Looking like I will be receiving on Wednesday morning, should have my thoughts on here by the night! Looking forward to your next tiny review (I'm looking forward to mine as-well!lol! Can't wait my bro!).

    Take care my friend!

    Good shooting
