Fujifilm adds new entry-level J series cameras
The Fujifilm J10 and J50 are the latest affordable offerings from the manufacturer, sporting a familiar set of features with a few distinguishing touches. Though the midnight announcement from Fuji doesn't specify, it looks like these cameras will be taking up the market segment formerly met by the company's A-series offerings.
The FinePix J10 is an 8.2 megapixel, 3x optical zoom compact with a 2.5-inch LCD. The FinePix J50 ups the specs to 8.2 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, and a 2.7-inch screen.
Both models sport basic soft features, like Fuji's Picture Stabilization Technology – a basic digital image stabilization variant. Fifteen sceen modes, advanced video capabilities for a camera in this class, and xD-Picture Card and SD/SDHC support round out the basic specs for both cameras.
The FinePix J10 and J50 will debut in March, with retail prices of $149.95 and $179.95, respectively.
