Early in the month, we reported that the latest version of Nikon's popular RAW conversion software, Capture NX 2, was being prepped for retail release.

According to an announcement this week, retail versions of the software are now available from authorized Nikon dealers and the manufacturer's online store.

Several new features, including changes to Nikon's Color Control Point tool and an Auto Retouch Brush for automated photo corrections, mark the latest version of the software. As before, shadow/highlight adjustments using Nikon's D-Lighting technology and conversion for the manufacturer's proprietary NEF RAW files are also availabe in the new program.

As anticipated, retail pricing is $109.95 for the upgrade, or $179.95 for the full version.
