Default Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Review Discussion

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 is extremely similar to the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 and shares most of the features, specifications, and attributes with the latter model. It is a little over an ounce heavier, likely due to the 3-inch LCD instead of the 2.5-inch screen of the prior model. By itself that is a nice upgrade.

Thanks for the review. The H10 can produce great looking photos but it obviously has some problems.

    "Cons: LCD practically unusable outdoors"

I have always wondered why manufacturers don't produce better LCDs since most users will be using cameras outdoors?

Fair question. My sense is that there are several technical issues at work: glare control, battery life, color fidelity at high gain, etc. Still, I think it would be nice to see more manufacturers (Panasonic, at least, has done fairly well in this area) spending more time on LCDs.

Few LCDs are as viewable in sunlight as they are indoors; the nature of LCDs. Still, I have used some cameras that had better LCDs than others, so clearly some improvements can be made. A optical viewfinder is the best answer. Coupled, so that it changes the view with the lens zoom settings.
