Nikon leads the way into DSLR-based video capture with the 12.3 megapixel, HD-movie capable Nikon D90. Best part? It should take great still pics, too.

Re: Movie-ready Nikon D90 announced
LOL, I've been reaing D90 rumors for a while now but common it was expected! I did not expect a movie mode to make it into a DSLR so soon...

Re: Movie-ready Nikon D90 announced
As late as a few weeks ago, I was still assuming that the movie part of this rumor simply wasn't going to happen,. I, too, am impressed that Nikon was able to pull it off for this announcement, and will even more impressed if it's as good as it seems like it might be.

Some other things I have read are also wild about this camera - this seems like a really good one.

Re: Movie-ready Nikon D90 announced
Probably the best feature, if I read the specs correctly, is the camera joins the non-entry level DSLRs in metering with virtually any Nikkor lens ever produced.

Re: Movie-ready Nikon D90 announced
That's correct from my understanding as well, and I think you're right about the importance of it. Most manufacturers do a poor job of supporting legacy glass on their DSLRs, but it's nice to see that not all do.
