    To my eyes the 50D is somewhat aimed at current Canon owners, with some investment in the EF system, who were considering jumping ship to the D300 for the obvious gains. The 300d may still have somewhat better low-light performance(can't tell until you review the 50d), but if the 50D is close enough, it'll keep the faithful in the fold.
