Strange that Pentax has been silent so far regarding new products. I hope they announce something at Photokina.

Likewise, I think it's interesting that Olympus hasn't announced anything related to the Four Thirds system and Sigma has no new lens announcements so far.

Cool format with that lead post. I've been around a lot of sites, but haven't seen anything that fancy before.

I was wondering about that as well...

Thanks. Doesn't look so nice in the forums, but I'll see what I can do about that.

Has Pentax always been slow in introducing new products?

Looking back, it's been a bit of a mixed bag on timing for Pentax.

Very cool to see that Oly is considering a M43 answer to the Panny LX3. However, without an optical viewfinder, I would not give that Oly the "rangefinder" label. Please take Oly team hostage and insist on optical viewfinder for that one!

Funny you should bring that up: I actually inquired briefly with our Olympus contact this afternoon about the lack of an EVF on the prototype (no true optical in the MFT system, of course), and apparently I wasn't the only one who had asked. I have to think if 50 journalists say, "This looks excellent, but where's my viewfinder?", someone might listen.

Good to hear. But I still prefer an optical viewfinder, as on the Canon G9, etc. Yes, not the usual choice for a camera with interchangable lenses. But Canon and Leica did do this back in the dark ages of 35mm cameras. And I would like to see it again, even if only a pale copy of those brightframe designs. And even if it really only matches the standard kit lens.

    Cool is cool is cool,
    Kelly
