Leica D-Lux 4, C-Lux 3 provide new advanced compact options
Leica has officially announced the launch of two new advanced compact cameras, the Leica D-Lux 4 and C-Lux 3.

Leica's version of Panasonic's exciting new Lumix LX3, the D-Lux 4 is a 10.1 megapixel compact with a 24-60mm fast-aperture (f/2.0-2.8) lens, a high-res 3.0 inch LCD, and advanced manual controls and processing options that include a film simulation system.
Some light physical and interface redesigns when compared to the LX3 help the new Leica, which the manufacturer is describing as the "Son of M8," slot into a slightly more premium space in the compact camera market.
The Leica C-Lux 3 is, from all appearances, even closer to its Panasonic cousin, the FX37, with a 10 megapixel sensor and a wide-angle lens that reaches out to an impressive 25mm focal length.
For more information on tech specs and performance expectations for the D-Lux 4 and C-Lux 3, check out the recent Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 and Lumix DMC-FX37 announcements, respectively.
We've yet to see an official US press release, but DPReview has an English-language announcement along with official press images of the new cameras.
