Canon Rebel XS Review Discussion
Canon has shaken up its entry-level offerings for the second time in 2008 with the launch of the Canon Rebel XS consumer-grade DSLR. Announced way back in June for the European market (as the EOS 1000D) but only recently available on this side of the Atlantic, the Rebel XS slots in at the very bottom of Canon's DSLR line – providing a second new entry-level option in Canon's lineup and a lower-cost, lower-res alternative to the relatively advanced XSi.

Re: Canon Rebel XS Review
It seems to have the same pluses and minuses as the XSi. Canon better be careful - the competition isn't sitting still.

Re: Canon Rebel XS Review
Well said, though I'd almost look it at from the other direction: the XS is a very competitive true entry-level camera. Where Canon may need to be looking over their shoulder is with the step-up XSi model; at the very least, I think the XS will siphon off a lot of potential buyers for the more expensive camera who realize that you really don't give up much at all by moving down to the XS.
