Default Canon PowerShot SD990 IS Review Discussion

Jim Keenan's review of the SD880is was a lot more positive. Even though it's less expensive, the SD880is seems like the better camera.

True, but .... none of the 14Mp class ultracompacts knock my socks off when it comes to IQ. The SD880 is a good auto-shooter, which makes it easy to recommend. For a 14Mp tech toy I would still choose the SD990, for its exquisite build quality and über kool design. And IQ no worse than the other 14Mp baubles. Pity Canon doesn't offer a 10Mp downgrade for the SD990!

Well said. I like most everything about this camera, but I feel that image quality has to get some kind of special weight compared to all other factors. And with that in mind, the shots just don't do it for me.
