I've never used a memory card before, i always used a Kodak printer, but they've gone out of circulation so i got a SD 2GB memory card and tried it but it keeps coming up "memory card needs formatting" and then and then "Filesy's error e00100" what does that mean

Formatting means preparing the card so your camera can use it. Have you tried formatting the memory card in the camera? There should be a setting for formatting in the camera's menu.

Can you tell me if SD 2GB is the right memory card for this camera, I couldn't find anything about formatting on the menu. I have the camera quite a few years and the directions are all lost a long time since. sorry to be a bother but I am 70 years old and not the quickest brain on here, many thanks.

Your 2GB SD card should be fine.

Your camera has a menu setting called "setup". The icon looks like three parallel horizontal lines.

Highlight setup and press the OK button.

You will see various settings, one of which is format. Highlight format and press OK.

You will see three options - memory card, cancel and internal memory. Highlight memory card and press OK. This will format your memory card and get it ready for use in your camera.

I found out the answer. Your camera will not work with 2GB memory cards - 1GB is the maximum capacity.

1gb sd cards are still available online. For example you can buy a 1gb SanDisk card at Amazon.com for $5.81 plus shipping.
