Default Panasonic Micro Four Thirds cameras get firmware update

Panasonic has released firmware updates for its GH1 and G1 digital cameras using the Micro Four Thirds system jointly developed by Panasonic and Olympus. Panasonic also released a firmware update for a lens used by the GH1 and G1, the Lumix G Vario 45-200mm F4.0-5.6 (H-FS045200).

The GH1 update, version 1.2, includes the following performance improvements:

  • Improved autofocus performance in low contrast conditions
  • Decreased operation noise of the autofocus in movie recording for the H-H020 lens by reducing the autofocus speed
  • Improved stability of autoexposure control for Panasonic's H-ES045 lens (introduced in October 2009)

The G1 update, version 1.4, includes the following performance improvements:

  • Improved autofocus performance in low contrast conditions
  • Improved stability of autoexposure control for Panasonic's H-ES045 lens (introduced in October 2009)

The Lumix G Vario 45-200mm F4.0-5.6 (H-FS045200) update, version 1.1, includes the following performance improvements:

  • Improved autofocus performance in AFC mode
  • Improved autofocus performance in movie recording (except FHD mode)
  • Improved stability of optical image stabilization in movie recording (except FHD mode)
  • Decreased operation noise of the aperture in movie recording (except FHD mode)
