Default Fujifilm Brings Real 3D to the US

Fujifilm has just announced details for the US release of their Real 3D imaging system.  Comprised of the FinePix W1 camera and V1 frame, the Real 3D system began shipping yesterday. Fujifilm released the first firm details about the 3D system in July.

The Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 camera is equipped with two Fujinon lenses, allowing it to capture two images simultaneously and combine them into one stereoscopic, “3D” image – no 3D glasses needed, as stylish as they may be. Images will appear to be three dimensional when displayed on the camera’s LCD or the FinePix Real 3D V1 digital viewer, a digital picture frame of sorts that will display images in all of their 3D glory.

Yesterday's announcement also confirmed a partnership between Fujifilm's 3D imaging project and GPU producer NVIDIA, labeling the camera and frame "NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready."

Pricing and availability
The FinePix W1 is available now at both Fuji’s and NVIDIA’s online stores, with an MSRP of $599.95. The FinePix Real 3D V1 viewer, at a healthy $499.95, is also available through the same outlets. Starting mid-October, Real 3D users will be able to order 3D prints from Fuji’s photo sharing site, SeeHere.com. One print will set you back $6.99, and they’ll be delivered in around 15 business days.
