Default Sony A65: Flash keeps popping up

When I first bought my Sony A65 I could operate the camera OK in modes Auto & Auto+ without the flash popping up when I depress the shutter button under good light conditions. Now I find I have to use mode Flash Off to prevent the flash from popping up under good light conditions. Can anyone kindly help stop my camera flash from popping up unrequested? Many thanks.

Have you contacted Sony about this? Maybe there's a problem with your camera. In any case, you've found a good solution by setting the flash to OFF.

Hi Andy. I drilled & drilled on the Sony website without striking oil. However, in deep consultation with Ms Woko, who is the hi tech guru in our household, I found what seems to be the solution: Go to Menu > Function of AEL button > select Flash Mode. Press the AEL button > select Flash Off. Problem seems to be solved and I've had confirmed that my wife selection has been spot on.
