I just bought 2 new Lenmar replacement batteries for my Z7590 camera. I charged both per the instructions using the K5000 charger that came with the camera. When I put either battery in the camera, the battery life indicator showed it to be only 1/8 charged.

I started shooting photos using the flash until the camera shut down. With one of the batteries I got 143 4 MP photos. I left the camera shut off for an hour and a half and started shooting photos again. I got 179 more photos from this same battery! All during this time, the indicator didn't change at all.

This number of photos makes me think that the battery was fully charged and functional and the indicator is totally inaccurate.

Is this a problem with these cameras?
and is there a way to reset the indicator?

    Thanks, Jim Birke

Sorry, I can't find that information on the internet. You might want to contact Kodak.
