I have budget of round about 250$ and I am confused about which point and shoot will do very good low light photography along with landscape photography (i am not even a beginnar, just an amateur, photography lover)

I shortlisted 3 of the cameras,I don't know much about the things such as aperture, focal length and wide angle lens etc

    1. Ixus 500/510 hs
    2. Ixus 255 hs
    3. Ixus 240 hs
    4. powershot 530 Elph..

    please help me?

All four Canons will do well with landscapes, though with the Ixus 255 and Ixus 240 you'll notice some distortion when shooting at extreme wide angle (no zoom). All four will do fairly well in low light, though you can do better with a camera that has a larger sensor such as the Canon Powershot S110, which is currently available online (in the US) for $219.

The SX240 has a longer optical zoom than the others but its image quality is about the same.

20x for the sx240 vs 10x for the Ixus 255. The SX240 is a bulkier than the Ixus 255 and its performance is slower as well though, as I said, image quality is very similar.

I can't say which camera is better - for each one there's a trade off.

Correction - the SX240 hs is a quicker camera than the Ixus 255

I think that long telephoto has little to do with landscape photography, unless you are shooting sunsets.

I agree, the SX260 is a very good, all around point and shoot. It's the same as the SX240 with WiFi and a GPS.
