I have had this camera for about 3 years now, everything has always worked fine, except sometimes the flash won't go off on the auto setting. If I put the setting as the one where two pictures are taken consecutively, one with flash and one without, the flash will work. But today the camera would not turn on, when it worked fine two days ago. I put several new sets of batteries in, yes I was putting them in correctly, but the camera didn't even beep or make any sign that anything happened. What can I do?

Try cleaning the contacts in the battery compartment?

No, not damp with water! First try a dry applicator. This could be a bit of pencil eraser, or even soft wood. If the dry techniques don't get it, then there are special liquids, but not water!!! Try Googleing for tips on cleaning battery contacts.

Warrenty is likely expired by now. So that leaves a local camera repair shop?
