    I'm thinking of purchasing a Canon Powershot G15, I already have a Canon 1000D with 50 f1.8 lens which gives really nice depth of field portraits. Can anyone tell me if the G15 can maintain the max shutter speed (1/4000) at f1.8?
    Also if anyone has some same images from G15 showing depth of field would be interested to see.

    Thanks :)

    Sorry, I don't know the answer to your first question.

    Regarding your question about depth of field, here are some shots showing the depth of field effect taken with the G12. With its wider max aperture, the G15 should do significantly better.

    You may want to watch the link below as more folks post their G15 images to see what they get with the new camera/lens;
