When I try to power up the camera I get a set of audio beeps (2 then 3) then nothing happens. I've taken the battery out and reset it back in and still nothing. The charging cradel says the battery is charged and ready. But, I still can't take pictures. The battery is a lithium Ion rechargable NP-40 3.7v 1230mAh. Could the battery be done? When I check it with a volt meter it reads 3.4v.

Other people have had similar complaints. What apparently happened is that your camera turned on while in its case and the lens tried to extend but was blocked by the case. This caused the lens to malfunction, shutting down the camera. Others have tried to get Casio to fix it under the warranty but Casio has refused, claiming the damage was caused by the user.
