Frustrated with Blurred Photos

    That's correct. If there are no faces the camera defaults to multipoint autofocus.

    I had the same problem with the AUTO mode on my camera so i stopped using it.

    What is was doing was defaulting to a 1/8 shutter speed.

    So when you hold the button down half was what is the shutter speed?

    Try setting it to continuous. That is going to use more power, but it will be constant, which is important for users having blur problems. Are you following the allowing the camera time to set its focus by doing a 2 step shutter release? This is very important in digital shots and will definitely cause blur if you are jabbing at that shutter.
