I have a new C 180 and win xp home sp 3 I loaded the latest easy share program. and it was waiting for me to plug in the camera so I did. when I plugged it in the camera shuts off. when I unplug the usb cable it turns back on. the kodak people were useless.

    why?

I assume you've tried turning the camera back on once it turned off, right? If the camera doesn't turn back on check to see whether the usb cable is connected to the proper port in your computer and that the port actually works (ports go bad). If the camera still won't transfer your photos, try uninstalling then reinstalling the Kodak software. If nothing helps you may have to return the camera.
