Has anyone replaced the battery door on a Z712? I've darn near ripped the whole camera apart and can't figure out how to remove the spring-pin that holds the door on. I've also searched online and can't find any info either. Thanks for any help.

Usually, the hinge pins used on smaller (i.e. non-DSLR) cameras are internally sprung and held in the sockets on both sides only by pressure. The procedures I've seen for removal on other brands (I'm thinking of Canon in particular) all state that you should be able to simply pop the pin out by forcing it without doing damage to either side of the hinge.

Have you tried leveraging underneath the pin (between the hinge and body, that is) ever so gently?
