    Hi.

I have ordered a replacement for my LZ8, I hope the new one can delete the photo`s via usb, according to member gglassmeyer who has a LZ8 it should.

I am not going to keep a faulty camera, even if it only a small fault.

I received my replacement LZ8 this morning, and i still cannot delete photo on the camera using usb?

I have tried my desktop with VISTA and my laptop with XP

But another LZ8 user on this forum say he can delete photo`s through the USB.

    What is going on!

Maybe they just polished up your old camera and sent it back. I can only add the my PC has XP, I did delete some photos, but I didn't try to create any folders though. If you lived nearby, I offer to help troubleshoot the issue using my camera. I'm in Cincinnati, OH in the US and since you've got the UK in your screen name I'm guessing that it's not for University of Kentucky (if you say UK around here that's what leaps into people's minds).
Good luck, I feel bad because I don't ever delete pics this way from the camera. I just exclude them from my import onto the PC, then I format the card in the camera.

Hello TB. You know me as savumaki in another world.

I have the LZ8 (very recent) and have no problem with deleting pics thru the USB; just tried it when I read the post and although slow with the program I use it does do it.
The only complaint I have is it will not accept HC cards. I do not think this will be a prob at the rate I take pics and I shudder with the thought of editing a 4+ Gb card.

    Take care

    Hi.

I am a member of 10+ forums , so you will have to give my memory a jog, EDIT: CPF

I dont have any LZ8 anymore, images were not very sharp also overexposed slightly, I have an Sony DSC W300 now.

I used an Kingston 4GB class 4 SDHC in my LZ8 and it worked fine!

On my Lumix TZ5 with an "DaneElec class 4 SDHC 4gb" I have the same problem.
I can't delete photos on the card when I have connected via the USB cable that came with the camera.
I'm running Windows XP SP2 and firmware 1.2 on the cam.

I can only delete photos on the camera or when I use the SD card on the laptop reader.

By the way, when recording 1280x720 30fps video this card is too slow. I get a warning that the recording stopped due to a speed limitation of the card.

I now have my TZ5 and i cannot delete photo`s thought the usb cable, but it`s not a deal breaker, it`s just disappointing!

Great camera otherwise, pity about the positioning of the mic, but i wont be using it for video anyway!
