I'm new to the digital world and the prothora of memory card mfg's, capacity and sizes is overwhelming. SanDisk, Transcend, Easystore, PNY, Kodak, Lexar, Olympus; 2GB, 4Gb, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB; Class 2, 4, 6! What is the best and reasonable priced SDHC card that I will need for the Canon SX20 IS?

The best reasonably priced memory cards on the market for the Canon SX20IS are the class 10 SDHC cards (class 10 are the fastest cards). 4 GB is good for many users but 8 GB would be better if you plan to take a lot of videos.

Some good 8GB class 10 SDHC cards are those by SanDisk, Transcend and Kingston. The Transcend card is a particularly good buy at $20-$25 from many online vendors.
