I'm going on a trip this summer, and currently, the only camera at my disposal is my phone camera. I've only had a few cameras in my lifetime, and I'm not super knowledgeable about cameras. I also am not great at taking pictures, but I like to try and sometimes I get lucky and get a good shot. Basically, I would like a camera that is idiot proof... namely, I don't have to have any fancy skills or talent to use it, but it will take decent pictures that I can possibly frame and hang on my walls. I also would prefer it to be under $250, as I don't do any shooting outside of travel and casual use. I am by no means even an amateur photographer, so I don't see much need for a DSLR, especially since they are usually well outside my budget range, and seem complicated to use. What would you recommend for these purposes?

The best camera under $250 as far as image quality is concerned is probably the Canon S110. It has a touchscreen, takes nice videos and has built-in wireless. It has a couple of negative aspects, though. It only has a 5x optical zoom lens and its operating speed is rather slow. The Canon SX280HS doesn't have the same level of image quality as the S110 but is quicker, costs less and has more optical zoom - 20x. Another camera worth considering is the Sony WX300, which is similar to the SX280HS but smaller. Plus the WX300 has an easy panorama mode, which the Canon lacks.

Here are some images from the S110, SX280, and WX300:

Thanks, I have heard great things about Canons from friends and family, so it looks like I'm leaning towards the S110. Appreciate your help!
