    Kyocera ending camera production

There are rumors that Kyocera willbe exiting the camera market. They have ceased production of both film and digital cameras. Kyocera has enjoyed some success in the digital camera market under the Yashica, Kyocera, and Contax brands. It's not completely clear what will happen to the various brands, but the speculation is that Sony is a prospective buyer of the Contax brand.

kind of sad news about Kyocera, but you had to figure this year we'd see companies begin to exit stage left. They did some innovative things, recently their rapid shoot technology has been impressive in the SL300R...a pretty sweet camera btw!
