    Hi all,

Picked up a bargain D200 but I'm kind of new to DSLRs so I'd appreciate a bit of advice on setting up the shooting banks.

As you know the D200 can have 4 pre-programmed modes of settings... I'm after advice on settings for:

    1) General daytime portrait / snapshot settings
    2) Action shot settings (sports or wildlife)
    3) Daytime landscape (particularly panaromic shots with a tripod)
    4) Nighttime landscape (again particularly with panoramic shots using a tripod)

I'm going to the US for 3 weeks and so these will be the main kind of photos I'll be taking. I especially want to stich together a bunch of shots in NYC for a day panorama and then do the exact same thing from the same spot at night.

I'll be using either the bog standard 18-55mm Nikon lens or a 28-200mm Sigma Compact Hyperzoom Aspherical Macro.

I have a D200 and have many of those type of settings, but many of those very based on what you are doing. There are also tons of settings in there, is there specific advice you are after?
