    Nikon 16-85mm or 18-200?

Just got a 7100. The only lens I have right now is a 35mm 1.8 prime. Looking for something to use daily. It appears the 16-85 is more but should make better shots. 18-200 obviously, more range, little less expensive. Pros and cons? Recommendations anyone?

    Thanks!

VERY helpful! My takeaway from this would be to get the 16-85, as the quality in that range appears to be better. Granted, I'm obviously missing zoom, but I shoot the majority of my work around people, cityscapes/architecture/landscape - so I think a zoom is not necessary immediately. At the point I do need that, I might look into something to cover the difference (70-200 etc). Would that make sense to you?

    Thanks again.

What about the 18-55mm? It's a good lens with a similar range to the 16-85mm but it's much cheaper. With the money you save over the 16-85mm you could get a 55-200mm vr or 55-300mm vr.
