When I turn on the camera, after 10 seconds it loses power. Sometimes I receiceive the message on the screen, "Battery Depleted". We have tried 2 pairs of brand new Energizer batteries.

I know it sounds dumb, but just to be sure, I would try a third set of new batteries. Make sure they are from a completely separate set of batteries. Go to a different store, and buy a different brand. If then it doesn't turn on, I would be convinced that its the camera.

Ok, so if you have tried three pairs and you are sure they they are all good (seems likely), then you camera seems to have a problem. Did this just start, or did it seem likely batteries just slowly didn't last as long? Was the camera dropped or shocked? Any rhyme or reason to this?

As far as we know, it was not dropped. The battery seemed to slowly not last as long. Don't believe camera was dropped.

Without seeing the camera (probably even if I'd seen it :) ) I'm guessing here, but these kinds of issues are often indicative that something in the camera's power management system is failing. This is often a replacement situation. I would certainly have it looked at by a repair shop, as it's unlikely that there's much you can do to solve the problem with "home remedies."

Just to make sure we've covered all bases, did all of these batteries come out of the same package/lot?
