A major difference with the FX35 is the possibility to have full manual mode with the FX500, the FX35 is a fully automatic camera. I've been using my FX500 for a couple of weeks and I'm quite happy. The noise is an issue above ISO 200 :( and the only real complaint. The 5x zoom and the 25mm wide angle is pretty useful. I'd like RAW images. The touch screen works very well and the 3" LCD is very nice.
