Most of the time I use the auto settings on my camera but i would love to learn more about the other functions and what settings to choose.

Can anyone suggest a good book focussed on digital cameras that outlines different settings etc?

There are a ton of books out there, so you may just want to head to a bookstore to browse what they have. Some books may talk about general photography tips, some talk about how to edit your images, some may talk about how to use a camera, so there are all different flavors.

I suggest the National Geographic digital photography techniques book.
    It covers everything.

I recently bought it and have learnt ALOT.
Check it out on Amazon :)

Thanks everyone, I will be sure to grab hold of these titles.

Does anyone know of a free email list or similar that offers weekly photography tips?
